Khader Adnan, an activist affiliated with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) group, died in an Israeli prison on Tuesday after nearly three months on hunger strike.
The 237th Palestinian prisoner to die in Israeli detention since 1967, he had spent many years of his life behind bars – in both Israeli and Palestinian prisons.
Khader Adnan, who was being held in administrative detention pending trial, had been in and out of prison since the late 1990s and had used hunger strikes to protest his arbitrary arrests and administrative detentions.
He died aged 45.
