In Sudan, the collapse of Arbaat Dam has unleashed surging waters that wiped out at least 20 villages and left 54 people dead while 200 others are unaccounted for and the homes of over 50,000 people impacted. The dam was the primary water source for Port Sudan, home to the country's main Red Sea port and working airport that receives most of Sudan's much-needed aid deliveries as the war wages on between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces. Over in Yemen, heavy rains and flooding have sparked fears of a major outbreak of cholera in the impoverished country. There are nearly 164,000 suspected cholera cases across Yemen, a figure that could climb to 250,000 in the coming weeks if not dealt with. This comes after a flooding killed around 60 people and impacted 268,000 others.
