The aisles and pews of Gaza City’s St Phillips Church are now filled with patients instead of worshippers, as hospitals across the enclave suffer severe shortages in capacity. The church, which is also known as the Baptist church and is part of the Al-Ahli Al-Arabi Baptist Hospital, is receiving patients and those wounded with internal injuries sustained throughout the war. Gaza's health system has collapsed in the face of massive Israeli bombardment and the non-stop targeting of the healthcare sector has complicated the care for the influxes of badly injured people. The few remaining hospitals are struggling to access medical supplies, overwhelming doctors and nurses coping with restricted space and terrible injuries.
