On Saturday, 14 October, a whopping 150,000-plus people descended upon central London to march in protest of Israel’s relentless and devastating bombardment of the Gaza Strip, and violation of international law through the cutting of food, water and electricity into the besieged enclave.

The incursion is Israel's sixth military operation in Gaza since 2006 but across all the occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem, human rights groups have constantly reported and documented systemic human rights violations against Palestinians - violations that pre-date the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 and the Nakba and ethnic cleansing that came with it.

Here's what Palestine Solidarity Campaign director Ben Jamal had to say about the London protest and the UK government's role in effectively greenlighting Israel's human rights abuses.
