Many in the US used the federal holiday of Juneteenth this week to show solidarity with Gaza and Palestine.
In Washington DC, hundreds of people showed up for street celebrations wearing keffiyehs and holding placards expressing support for Palestinians.
Juneteenth became a federal holiday in the US in 2021, although it has always been a day to commemorate and celebrate the ending of slavery.
