The Israeli military continue to evade questions and calls for accountability over the killing of journalists tasked with covering the war. CPJ’s investigations showed that at least 105 journalists and media workers were among the more than 35,000 killed since the war began.

Israel Forces told Media agencies that it could not guarantee the safety of their journalists operating in the Gaza Strip, after they had sought assurances that their journalists would not be targeted by Israeli strikes.

The UN finalized a report last week about the killing of Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah in southern Lebanon, concluding that the attack was from an Israeli tank that had fired at a group of “clearly identifiable journalists,” a violation of international law.
