In an interview with The New Arab, Shadi Hamid, American author and political scientist, explained the deep frustrations within Arab and Muslim communities towards the Biden administration and Kamala Harris's campaign. He highlighted a troubling sense of indifference and disrespect from the campaign towards Arab and Muslim voters. “That's a painful thing for our community to see,” he said. Shadi criticised Harris's discomfort discussing Palestinian issues, suggesting that her campaign may be missing a vital opportunity to connect with a significant voter base. “It's just hard for people to get over it and just accept that Kamala Harris is the lesser of two evils,” he added. As the elections approach, Shady emphasised the importance of the Arab and Muslim vote in key swing states like Michigan, where their votes could decisively influence the election.
