Stuart Seldowitz, a former adviser in the Obama administration, has become the center of controversy after a video in which he goes on an Islamophobic rant that went viral on social media.
In the video, Seldowitz is seen making Islamophobic remarks and threatening a Muslim street vendor in New York City.
His comments included labelling the vendor a "terrorist" and making derogatory statements about the Prophet Mohammed.
This incident quickly caught the attention of social media users, leading to widespread condemnation.
Prominent New York figures, such as Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul, denounced Seldowitz's actions as hateful and unacceptable.
In response to the backlash, Gotham Government Relations, where Seldowitz had previously chaired the foreign affairs practice, severed ties with him, labelling his behaviour as vile and racist.
Northwestern Mutual also distanced itself from Seldowitz, disavowing any affiliation.
