Dr Ghassan Abu Sitta recounts being forced from Al Ahli hospital

Dr Ghassan Abu Sitta, a British-Palestinian doctor who has been treating the wounded in Gaza since October 7th recalls being forced to Al Ahli Hospital after running out of medication which forced them to stop operating.

The hospital was surrounded by Israeli tanks as Al Ahli's surgical team walked out on the morning of Thursday (November 16).

Sitta said bodies were on the ground, as they avoided Israeli tanks by taking different roads to reach Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza during a five-hour journey on foot. "Leaving 500 wounded, knowing that there's nothing left for you to be able to do for them, it's just the most heartbreaking thing I ever had to do."
