Lebanon is reeling after another night of heavy Israeli airstrikes, with the capital Beirut reporting explosions from at least 12 Israeli missiles. The Lebanese health ministry said 16 people across the country were killed in the latest phase of the campaign by Israeli forces, which claimed to be targeting sites associated with the Al Qard Al Hassan bank. Both Israel and the US have accused the bank of being a front for Hezbollah's financial transactions. In the capital, strikes were reported in the southern suburbs of Dahiyeh, Chiyah, Bourj al Barajneh, and Laylaki. The latter two are densely populated residential areas close to Beirut's international airport. Before the strikes, Israeli forces had said it would attack Al Qard Al Hassan's branches in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley region and southern Lebanon, issuing evacuation warnings for more than a dozen buildings in the capital Beirut alone.
