Ramón Spaaij, PhD, is professor of sociology in the Institute for Health and Sport at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. He is a sociologist of sport, with a specialty in the intersections of sport, social inclusion, conflict, and development. His recent books include “The Palgrave International Handbook of Football and Politics” (2018) and “Routledge Handbook of Football Studies” (2016).
