Israel has arrested at least 5,875 Palestinians in the West Bank in the past 100 days, coinciding with its brutal onslaught on the Gaza Strip, a prisoner's organisation said on Saturday.

At least 355 of those arrested were children, and 200 were women, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said, adding that the violent arrests and raids had spared no one.

The figure included individuals who were detained, those still in custody, and those who were later released, the statement said.

More than 2,856 Palestinians have been held without trial or charge under Israel’s notorious policy of administrative detention since 7 October, the NGO said.

"This figure takes the number of administrative detainees in Israeli prisons to more than 3,290 Palestinians," the statement added.

At least 8,800 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, according to figures released by the prisoners’ affairs groups.

Israeli forces have conducted almost daily raids into the occupied West Bank as Tel Aviv continues its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed at least 23,900 people - mostly women and children.

According to the UN, 85 percent of Gaza’s population is internally displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60 percent of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.
