Trump Organisation, Saudi developer to build luxury housing, golf complex in Oman
The Trump family has reached a $1.6 billion deal with a real estate developer in Saudi Arabia for a large housing and golf complex in Oman, according to reports.
The project, named Aida, will be on built on a hillside in the capital, Muscat, that overlooks the Gulf of Oman, a spokesperson for the Trump Organisation told the New York Times.
The complex will include an estimated 3,500 residential units, luxury retail outlets, a golf resort, and two hotels, the spokesperson reportedly said.
The Trump Organisation agreed to license its name to the complex, which is being developed by Saudi real estate giant Dar Al Arkan.
The deal is the first of its kind struck by the Trump Organisation since Donald Trump's term as president ended at the beginning of last year.
NYT said that though the deal's financial terms were not disclosed, the spokesperson confirmed the cost of the project stood at $1.6 billion.
News of the agreement comes as Trump fights legal problems back home, including tax fraud charges and a probe into the 6 January attack on the US Capitol.
Despite the legal tumult, Trump looks poised to announce a third presidential candidacy.
