A video which allegedly shows a rescue team finding the body of Saudi man in a vast desert south of Riyadh, in the position of prostration, has emerged online.

According to Saudi media reports, the man, Duweihi Al-Dawsari, a resident of the town in the Dawasir valley, had been missing since July 16.

A rescue mission discovered his body in the position of Sujood, an act of ritual prostration in Muslim worship, more than a day after they searched for and found his vehicle.

Saudi social media users have expressed their condolences for the man, reflecting on the poignant act of religious devotion, which marked his final moments.

Local media said that many people are often reported missing in the Kingdom's desert when their vehicles break down or are stuck in sand, in areas of which are beyond the reach of emergency services.
