Qatar launches International Media Office to promote its vision globally
Qatar has launched a media bureau to help it communicate its vision internationally.
The International Media Office (IMO), created under an emiri decree, is tasked with issuing press releases about Doha's foreign affairs and conveying the Gulf state's vision to the world.
"Visit our newly launched website to learn more about the mission and purpose of the International Media Office and stay informed on Qatar's key priorities," the office tweeted on Wednesday.
The site said the bureau seeks to "present an accurate image of Qatar to the world and shed light on the state's national vision and priorities".

"The IMO is responsible for communication the vision, policies, programmes and official state positions of the State of Qatar to the world," its website added.
The office is also tasked with advancing relations with regional and international media and giving other government bodies media support.
The IMO issues international media with licences and work permits.
It comes after a decree was issued in the UAE in January to form a National Media Office for the Emirates.
Part of its role was to "prepare, evaluate and review the UAE's media narrative at home and abroad" and to "preserve and enhance the UAE's reputation", as well as "representing the UAE in the regional and international media", the official Emirati news agency WAM said at the time.
