A Palestinian teenager was killed and two others were injured early Wednesday after Israeli tanks, stationed on the border with eastern Rafah in southern Gaza Strip, fired on them, medics said.

The victims were brought to Abu Yousef al-Najjar Hospital in the Rafah, Ashraf al-Qudra, a spokesman for the Gaza’s ministry of health said.

Witnesses said the young men approached the border area between the eastern part of the town and Israel, and tried to cross the fence to get into the Israeli side.

Qudra identified the teenager who was killed as Yusuf Shaban Abu Adra, 18, and said the two other casualties were in serious and moderate condition.

There is no immediate comment from the Israeli army.
