Israeli forces continued pounding several locations in Lebanon on Sunday, killing at least five in separate strikes on a house in Srifa, Sour district and on a house in Kfar Dounin in the Bint Jbeil district.

One village, Khiam, was struck at least 14 times.

The Lebanese military also said three of its soldiers have been killed in an Israeli air strike on their vehicle.

Israel went on to strike Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut, after having issued a number of evacuation orders earlier on Sunday.

The reported strikes came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah of trying to assassinate him by attacking his residence - in an incident that resulted in no injuries or casualties on Saturday.

"Anyone who tries to harm Israel's citizens will pay a heavy price," he said in comments directed at Tehran and "its proxies", which include Lebanon's Hezbollah, a group Israel has been at war with since late September.

Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, Gazans are still reeling from a vicious Israeli strike on the northern city of Beit Lahia, which killed at least 87 people, late on Saturday. The UN condemned the "horrifying scenes" are unfolding there and "nowhere is safe in Gaza".

The strike was among the deadliest in recent weeks. Scores more are feared trapped under rubble, rescuers in Gaza said.
