Israel's relentless bombing campaign in Gaza has killed nearly 2,000 Palestinian children.

The latest escalation was sparked on 7 October, when Hamas launched a surprise attack inside Israel, killing 1,400 people.

Since then, Israeli attacks have killed over 4,650 people in Gaza, including at least 1,873 Palestinian children.

It means children make up around 40 percent of those who have lost their lives to the bombardment so far.

"More than 4,600 children are injured as hospitals run out of fuel, electricity, and medical supplies," rights group Defence for Children International – Palestine said in a post on social media platform X on Sunday.

Israel imposed a full siege on Gaza, tightening previous longstanding restrictions, following the Hamas attack.

While an aid convoy arrived in the strip on Saturday and another entered the crossing with Egypt on Sunday, the situation remains bleak for Palestinian civilians living there as basic supplies are in short supply.
