Algeria's Riyad Mahrez latest Premier League star thought to be moving to Saudi Arabia
Algeria and Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez is the latest big name believed to be moving to the Saudi Pro League, following a spate of summer signings by the kingdom's biggest football clubs.
Jeddah based Al-Ahli are keen to sign Mahrez, who played a role in Manchester City's treble winning season, with a salary offer that some football pundits say will be difficult for the 33-year-old to turn down.
Al-Ahli dispatched its top negotiator to England to woo the Algerian winger and an announcement of his signing is said to be imminent.
French international Karim Benzema signed for Al-Ahli's Jeddah rivals Al-Ittihad this month.
"The Saudi negotiator will address in the coming hours Manchester City officials, after the completion of the celebrations of the coronation of the historic treble achieved by the team during this season," Saudi newspaper Okaz reported.

The two clubs are said to be negotiating a transfer fee for the player whose contract with Manchester City ends in 2025, but Mahrez is reportedly more than happy with the deal offered by Al-Ahli - said to be around $55 million plus bonuses - and excited to move to Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ahli is one of the biggest clubs in Saudi Arabia and have also set their sights on Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who both play in the Premier League.
Saudi clubs are offering hundreds of millions of dollars to attract some of the world's best-known footballers, a trend that started when Riyadh side Al-Nassr signed Cristiano Ronaldo at the start of the year.
There are reports of the Saudi government providing Saudi Pro League teams with a huge money pot to make the domestic league one of the best outside Europe.
Morocco star Hakim Ziyech is said to be the next big name to sign for Al-Nassr with others expected to sign for Saudi club over the summer.
