Israeli strikes on Lebanon's Bekaa Valley overnight killed at least 60 people and injured 120 others across a dozen towns, the deadliest day yet for the area in more than a year of hostilities. Lebanon's health ministry said the death tolls covered 12 areas in the Bekaa Valley. At least two children were among the dead. Rescue efforts were still underway and the death toll number of injuries could rise. Baalbek governor Bachir Khodr decried what he called the "most violent" raids on the area since the start of the conflict. The heavy strikes were also not preceded by an evacuation warning. The Bekaa Valley massacre raises the overall toll to more than 1,700 killed in Lebanon since Israel's aggression in Lebanon intensified since late September. The intensification comes as Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in almost-daily cross-border fire since the start of Israel's war on the Gaza Strip, on October 7 last year. Since then, a total of 2,710 people have been killed in Lebanon, while 12,592 have been injured.
