Colonel Moshe Tetro is the head of the Coordination and Liaison Administration for COGAT, which is responsible for implementing the Israeli government's policy in Area C of the West Bank and vis-à-vis the Gaza Strip.
In a press conference today, he said that while "the civil situation in the Gaza Strip is not an easy one", the Israeli government does not believe there is a humanitarian crisis and added that "tens of trucks loaded with food" were entering the area daily.
But a leading official from the World Health Organisation and UN Human Rights chief Volker Turk have both said otherwise.
