During his tenure as First Minister of Scotland, Humza Yousaf rose to global prominence when it emerged that the parents of his wife Nadia El-Nakla - who is Scottish-Palestinian - were momentarily stuck in Gaza during the early months of Israel's genocidal war on the coastal strip/ Yousaf also became one of the most vocal British politicians to take a moral stance in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
