Taufiq is an editor and journalist at The New Arab, having joined the team in 2016. Based in London, he graduated from Queen Mary University with a Bachelors degree in History focussing on the medieval Islamic world, later pursuing an MSc in Development Studies at SOAS. Prior to joining The New Arab, Taufiq worked for several years with UK-based Muslim Aid.
