"Decisive Salman": The king is making a name for himself [AFP]
In a televised phone interview, Prince Mamdouh bin Abdul Rahman verbally abused sports writer Adnan Jestiniya on a Saudi TV channel.

The prince was on the phone speaking on a live show, where he was discussing Saudi sport - and he attacked Jestiniya with what was deemed to be "an offensive comment".

A firm response from King Suleiman quickly followed.

According to Sabaq, the king sent an urgent statement forbidding Prince Mamdouh from taking part in any sporting event and banning him from appearing on any form of national media.

Sabaq said the decision would be immediately implemented.

This rather unusual and "decisive" response was widely acknowledged by Saudi social media users.

Tweeters linked the king's response to his decision to strike Yemen with "Operation: Decisive Storm".

The majority of Saudi twitterers applauded the king's move, saying it was proof that an earlier statement - "nobody is above the law and there will be no discrimination between citizens and regions" - was being upheld.

@AliAldafiri:Banning prince Mamdouh is a great news, let’s hope new, clear and detailed laws are put in order to punish those who cross the line.

Many went as far as giving King Salman a new nickname : "Decisive Salman"

@Shyashya123: Thank you, Decisive Salman, for putting an end to offensive people, regardless of their social rank.
