Wife, two sons charged with man's murder in Iraq
The circumstances surrounding a man's gruesome murder allegedly at the hands of his own family in Iraq, which shook the country, were revealed by authorities on Sunday.
Iraq's Security Media Cell announced that federal intelligence and the interior ministry managed to uncover the story behind the murder of a man whose body was found on the banks of a river in Al-Hartha, just north of the southern city of Basra.
The suspects - the victim's wife and their two sons - confessed to shooting the man in the head with a GC rifle, taking him to the back of the house, and attempting to set his body on fire to make him unidentifiable to security forces.
The motive was reportedly due to family problems.
Authorities confirmed that the weapon and car used to transport his body to the river were seized. The three are currently on trial.
