Two Israeli ministers set for a four-day visit to Rabat on Monday

Israel's ministers of justice and regional cooperation will visit Morocco this Monday as Tel Aviv and Rabat move forward to strengthen their one-year-long normalisation deal.

Issawi Frej, Israel's Minister of Regional Cooperation, who reportedly arrived in Morocco on Sunday alongside a delegation of Jewish and Arab Israeli women journalists, will participate in a regional forum created to "strengthen the voice of women in media." 

"Morocco is a model of cohabitation between individuals of various religions," the Arab-Israeli politician told i24news.

Frej's four-day trip to Rabat will be an opportunity to "develop common initiatives in the fields of culture, communication, and sport [between the two countries]," he told i24news.

Meanwhile, Gideon Sa'ar, Israel's minister of justice, will also arrive in Morocco on Monday for a four-day visit focusing mainly on legal cooperation between the two countries, according to i24news.

As part of Sa'ar's visit, Rabat and Tel Aviv will sign a cooperation agreement in judicial and legal cooperation.

The visit of the two Israeli ministers came a few days after the first official visit of Israeli military chef Aviv Kochavi to Morocco.

In 2022, Tel Aviv and Rabat had a year of firsts, as Moroccan and Israeli delegations flew back and forth between the two to seal deals on trade, education and security.

Marking a year of normalisation in December 2021, Nasser Bourita, Morocco's foreign minister, promised that the limit of the Moroccan-Israeli cooperation "is the sky."

On December 22 this year, Tel Aviv and Rabat are expected to celebrate two years of bilateral cooperation, during which the two countries deepened "their friendship" despite the growing anti-normalisation protests in Morocco.
