Voting in Tunisian parliamentary elections will take place in two rounds, and the voting will be for individuals not for lists as in all previous elections, state radio cited President Kais Saied as saying on Wednesday.
Saied's comments confirm that he is moving forward with political changes although they have not been agreed upon with other key players yet.
Saied said also that the Independent Electoral Commission ISIE would supervise the elections, although not in its current composition.
Elections are expected to be held in December, and come after a power grab by Saied in 2021, along with the recent dissolution of parliament, among other draconian measures, which have been condemned by human rights groups.
Tunisia was thrown into political turmoil last year when the president decided to suspend parliament and dismiss the government.
The opposition decried the move as a "coup" and staged a string of protests.
