Syrian authority reopens all ports except two after bad weather disrupts transport

Syria's ports authority reopened all ports except Baniyas and al-Bassit ports on Thursday, after shutting them down a day earlier due to bad weather, state media reported.

The war-ravaged country operates seven seaports through which it brings in basic needs including food and petroleum products.

Brigadier General Samer Kobrosli, the director general of the authority, said the original decision to shut down the ports did not include oil terminals. There was no immediate comment from Syria's oil ministry on whether the terminals were operational.
