Suspected IS militant arrested by Saudi forces
A suspected terrorist involved in deadly attacks on Shia mosques was captured by Saudi security forces after a raid on his accomplice's home in the eastern province.
Sweilam al-Ruweili, who has been hiding from authorities, was finally caught when security forces stormed a home of another member of the militant group.
Al-Ruweili who is one of 16 members on a wanted list, was allegedly a member of a militant "deviant group" that detonated explosives at two mosques in the kingdom's majority-Shia eastern region, killing 8 and injuring dozens.
He is also wanted for his involvement in an attack that killed 15 members of a local security force as they prayed in a mosque last summer.
Authorities had offered a cash reward of five million Saudi Riyals ($1,332,924) for any information leading to the arrest of the culprits.
Banan Helal, the wife of al-Ruweili's accomplice was killed in the raid when she surprised security forces with a machine gun.
The militant Islamic State group has killed more than 50 people in attacks carried out across the kingdom since August 2014.
