A Saudi tourist was trampled to death on Tuesday night by an elephant at a national park in Uganda, according to reports.
Ayman Sayed Elshahany had left his vehicle when a herd of elephants charged the man and his friends at Murchison Falls in northwestern Uganda.
"They stopped along the way and the deceased went out of the car, an elephant charged at him, killed him on the spot," said Uganda wildlife authority spokesman Bashir Hangi in a statement.
An investigation into Elshahany's death has been launched, The Independent reported.
Hangi said security protocols at the park are being reviewed following the death of the Saudi tourist.
