Saudi doctor awarded for treating passenger who fainted on Air Canada flight
A Saudi doctor has received an award for helping a passenger who fainted on an Air Canada flight last week.
A flight attendant asked if there was a doctor onboard after a passenger passed out, when Dr. Awrad Mohammed Nasrallah made herself known.
"I was able to immediately intervene and provide him with first aid until he fully regained consciousness," Nasrallah told Arab News.
"The patient was suffering hypotension [low blood pressure], so I administrated an IV fluid until he began to gradually regain consciousness," she added.
Her procedure was given the green light by medical staff in Canada, who was in direct contact with the aircrew throughout the emergency.
The scholarship student said she felt it was her duty to come to the passenger’s help.
The Saudi Cultural Attache in Ottawa presented Nasrallah with a certificate of appreciation on Sunday for coming to the passenger’s aid.
