Arab football stars Riyad Mahrez and Mohamed Salah are to co-star as television pundits for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, according to reports.

The two Premier League stars will feature on the analysis team on Qatari network BeIN Sports during the month-long tournament, sports website Stad Doha reported.

Liverpool's Salah and Manchester City’s Mahrez will miss on playing at the World Cup after their national teams, Egypt and Algeria, crashed out during the qualifying stages of the tournament.

Like other major leagues, the English top flight will go on hiatus while the World Cup takes place from 20 November to 18 December.

Both Mahrez and Salah have shone at their current clubs, though the Algerian's performance at Manchester City has been overshadowed by new signing Erling Haaland.

The Qatari network is the biggest sports broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa region. Its channels are also available to view in the US, and in parts of Europe and Asia.
