Ronaldo offered '$210 million a season' deal to sign for Saudi club Al-Nassr
Saudi club Al-Nassr have made an eye-watering $200 million a season offer for Cristiano Ronaldo, following months of speculation he could sign for the side.
The Riyadh-based club now appears set to sign the Portuguese forward, who left Manchester United last month after an acrimonious end to his career with the Premier League team.
Numerous media outlets have reported that Al-Nassr's offer is the best on the table, with Marca saying that Ronaldo had already signed for the Saudi Professional League side and will don the club's famed yellow jersey in January.
He would earn £173 million a season for Al-Nassr along with "economic incentives via advertising that will place the Portuguese as the highest-paid athlete in the world", Marca reported.
Other clubs are also interested in signing the five-time Balon d'Or winner, including Newcastle United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and his first club Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo is said to be keen on wracking up more goals in European football to secure his place as the top scorer in the Champions League for at least a generation, a factor that might work against the Saudi club.
But leading bookies in the UK are not giving odds for Al-Nassr, indicating a deal with the Saudi club could be a done deal.
