A Palestinian paramedic succumbed to his wounds on Friday after sustaining a serious head injury following an Israeli raid, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PCRS) announced.
The paramedic has been identified as Tamer Saqr, who volunteered for the organisation.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that he was killed and said he was shot using live fire during an Israeli raid a week earlier in the Balata refugee camp, east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
Saqr, 21, was working to evacuate casualties who were targeted in an Israeli drone strike which hit a house last Saturday, which killed two people and wounded at least 20 others, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
Over 500 Palestinians, including over 100 children have been killed in the occupied West Bank since 7 October. Most of the fatalities took place during Israeli military raids in Palestinian cities and villages, mainly in Jenin and Tulkarm.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza, there has been an uptick in attacks and arrests of Palestinians in the West Bank.
According to the World Health Organisation, from October until May, they have documented over 480 Israeli attacks on healthcare workers in the West Bank alone.
