On Tuesday, 15 August, a Palestinian military group fired a homemade rocket from the occupied West Bank city of Jenin at the illegal Israeli settlement known as "Shaked," west of Jenin.

Calling itself the "Ayyash Brigade," the military group said in a press statement, "We have successfully fired the missile of al-Qassam the settlement."

"The missile launch is in response to the enemy's crimes against our people, and in retaliation for the blood of our martyrs, the fuel of our resistance, and in response to the assassination of two young men in Aqabat Jabr camp near Jericho," the group added.

The militant group said, "Despite the complex security conditions and the lack of capabilities and constraints, we will continue on our way to make the West Bank a living hell for the occupation."

In turn, the Israeli army claimed it was verifying reports that a missile was fired from Jenin toward an Israeli settlement.

It was the sixth attempt for al-Ayyash Brigad to fire rockets at Israeli settlements from Jenin, as the first missile was launched at a settlement in the occupied West Bank last May.

The group published short videos showing a missile launched at the Israeli settlement. The logo of Al-Qassam, the military branch of Hamas, marked the video. Hamas has yet to comment on the subject officially.
