Mohamed Salah has been crowned Liverpool FC's best player for the 2021-22 season by the club's fans and former players.

The Egyptian - who was the Premier League side's top goalscorer and second-biggest deliverer of assists this season - won the Men's Player of the Season award after a vote by Liverpool fans and the official former players association Forever Reds, the club said in a statement released Wednesday.

The on-form Liverpool number 11 had already won the PFA Player of the Year and Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year awards for the season, which ended last month.

His future at Liverpool has seemed uncertain recently, with his contract drawing to a close.

The 29-year-old confirmed at the end of May that he would be seeing his contract through by staying at the club next season, but remains non-committal about his plans for the more distant future.
