Speaking to The New Arab, local eyewitnesses said that an Israeli warplane attacked three classrooms inside the school the Nuseirat Boys Preparatory in the second bloc of al-Nuseirat camp.

"Heavy explosions were heard from other cities of Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis," the eyewitnesses said. "The situation in al-Nuseirat is very dangerous as the Israeli army continues to attack the civilians."

For its part, the Hamas government media office in Gaza said, "The Israeli occupation army committed a horrific massacre a short while ago by bombing several rooms housing dozens of displaced people in the Nuseirat School in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip."

"The continued commission of these massacres is clear evidence of the continued commission of the crime of genocide and ethnic cleansing against civilians and displaced people in the Gaza Strip," it added. "The numbers of dead and wounded are still arriving at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which is filled with wounded and patients at three times its bed capacity, and this portends a real catastrophe that will lead to a further increase in the number of martyrs."

"We condemn the American alignment with the Israeli occupation and its military support for it with weapons and giving it the green light to continue this genocide. The Israeli occupation and the US administration fully responsible for these crimes against humanity and against international law," it added, further calling on the entire world "to condemn these crimes and the Israeli-American aggression on the Gaza Strip".
