Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard says Mohamed Salah is his 'favourite' footballer
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard says Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah is his favourite player on The Reds' team.
Gerrard, who made his Liverpool Football Club debut in 1998 and left in 2015, called Salah an "exciting" player, as he praised his talents in an interview with the Egyptian star on LFCTV.
The former skipper, who won 10 trophies during his run on the team, made the comments in an interview aired just after Salah made footballing history on Sunday night, by overtaking Robbie Fowler to become Liverpool’s top Premier League scorer.

"Now my favourite is you, it has to be you," Gerrard told the Egyptian star, adding that his son Lio "is obsessed… he loves you more than me, I’m second" as Salah humbly laughed.
The Egyptian forward bagged two goals in the epic 7-0 Liverpool win over Manchester United on Sunday, which has been touted as a resurgence for a side that has so far struggled this season.
"I cannot describe it. This is one of my best days of my life, and I broke the record that I was seeking from the time I came to the club," Salah told beIN Sports.
The Egyptian star also picked up the Man of the Match award, with teammates lining up to congratulate the forward, both at Anfield and online.
Salah signed a three-year contract for Liverpool last year, which should see him bag more goals for the club over the coming seasons.
Liverpool fans were "ecstatic" following the announcement, as he has become one of Liverpool's most-loved since signing for the club in 2017 and helping them win their first league title for 30 years in 2020.
