A Jordanian national handball player died after reportedly suffering a heart attack during a game on Tuesday.

Adel Bakr Attari, from the Kufranja Club, was playing in a match against Al-Salt Club as part of the Jordan Handball Cup Championship when he collapsed.

Video shows the 36-year-old fall to the ground as players hurried to his side.

The Jordan Handball Federation said in a statement on Tuesday that paramedics rushed Attari to a hospital near the Al Hussein Youth City in Amman.

It was not clear how soon after he passed away, or whether he suffered from any underlying health problems.

The federation also announced three days of mourning for the player and the suspension of all games.
