Rasha Budeiri, 38, a Sheikh Jarrah resident, told The New Arab on Monday night: "What we are seeing is an ongoing Nakba against Palestinians," referring to the mass forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians by Zionist militias which accompanied the creation of Israel in 1948.
"It is not surprising in view of Israel’s actions and daily crimes... A good Palestinian for them is a dead Palestinian and that’s what they are working to achieve, whether in Sheikh Jarrah, or Al-Aqsa Mosque or [Lod], or Ramleh, or Gaza."
Meanwhile, at least 62 people, including 14 children have been killed in the Gaza Strip by Israeli airstrikes with 335 people wounded, according to the local ministry of health.
Six people in Israel have been killed in rocket attacks by Hamas, which were launched on Monday after the Palestinian group gave Israel an ultimatum to withdraw from the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque
