An Israeli model accompanying rapper Travis Scott during his cancelled concert at the Giza pyramids claims she was kicked out of the Egyptian hotel she was staying in after the departure of the singer.

Shay Zanco stayed on in Egypt after Scott cancelled the controversial show in order to visit the country's famed tourist attractions, The Jerusalem Post reported, posing for pictures at the pyramids and sphinx.

With Travis Scott's staff no longer around to escort the model, the Egyptian hotel she was staying at asked her to leave, Israeli media alleged.

The sudden cancellation of Travis Scott’s concert at the pyramids, where he was due to promote his Utopia album, came as a shock to millions of his fans worldwide, many of whom had travelled to Egypt for the event.

Scott was accused by the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate of performing "strange rituals, which are against our traditions".

This was interpreted as a reference to "Afrocentrism" - the alleged appropriation of Egyptian culture by some Black Americans, which was brought into focus after the release of the Netflix documentary Cleopatra earlier this year.

Zanco, a 20-year-old plus size model who has nearly 200,000 Instagram followers and has previously appeared in Vogue, alleged that the Egyptian hotel had expelled her because of antisemitism and her Israeli nationality.

"I was very stressed and felt really humiliated," she was quoted by The Jerusalem Post as saying . "In the four years I've been [in the spotlight], I've never felt antisemitism or faced any problems because I'm Jewish and Israeli. This time it was something different."

Zanco added that she immediately went to the airport and left Egypt after being thrown out of the hotel.
