Israeli forces storm West Bank village, arrest two teenage brothers
Israeli forces on Saturday stormed the West Bank village of Kafr Dan in Jenin governorate, arresting two brothers and clashing with local resistance fighters.
Local journalist Muhammad Abed from told The New Arab’s Arabic-language service, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, that Israeli forces stormed the al-Daraqa area in the village and raided the house of Sheikh Yahya Massad and arrested his two sons Abdullah and Abdulaziz, aged 18 and 19.
Abed added that clashes broke out with local fighters as the Israeli forces withdrew.
On Friday evening, a number of Palestinians were injured and suffered tear gas suffocation as Israeli forces raided the town of Tuqu' in Bethlehem , in the southern West Bank.
The ongoing violence in the West Bank has surged to levels unseen in nearly two decades, with more than 170 Palestinians killed by Israeli fire since the start of 2023, according to a tally by The Associated Press.
The Palestinians say such violence is the inevitable result of 56 years of occupation and the absence of any political process with Israel. They also point to increased West Bank settlement construction and violence by extremist settlers .
