Two Palestinians were killed on Wednesday during raids by Israeli forces on the Al Faraa refugee camp near Tubas and on the town of Tamoun in the northern occupied West Bank, with others sustaining injuries in the attacks.
Moath Ibrahim Zahran, 23, from Al-Faraa camp and teenager Abdul Rahman Imad Khaled Bani Odeh, 16, from Tamoun were fatally shot, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
In ongoing attacks on towns and refugee camps across the West Bank since the Israel's war on Gaza broke out in October, Israeli forces in armoured vehicles stormed the Al-Faraa camp on Wednesday morning.
Confrontations broke out between the camp’s residents and Israeli soldiers who opened fire, WAFA said.
Eleven people were injured and taken to hospital, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, while the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said that three people, including a woman, were detained by Israeli forces during the raid on Tamoun.
The Palestinian Fatah movement, which is led by President Mahmoud Abbas, announced a strike in the governate of Tubas to mourn the deaths of the two men and said that a funeral will take place at the Turkish governmental hospital in the city.
On Wednesday the Israeli military also stormed the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, injuring three people, two of them critically, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
In a video posted by Al Jazeera Arabic on X, a stream of military vehicles and a bulldozer can be seen driving into the Balata camp.
Another video posted online showed an injured man being carried by civilians in the Balata camp, the largest in the West Bank, where 32,000 people live. It has suffered continued assaults by Israeli forces since October 7.
Last week, five people were killed in the camp by a suspected Israeli drone strike targeting the local headquarters of Fatah.
A number of men were also detained by Israeli forces on Wednesday in the Dheisheh Camp, south of Bethlehem, Al Jazeera Arabic reported.
WAFA news agency also reported the death of 30-year-old Ahmad Nathmi Ghanem on Wednesday, who died after succumbing to wounds sustained during an Israeli raid on the Tulkarm refugee camp last week.
There was a major nine-hour long offensive by Israeli forces on the Jenin refugee camp on Tuesday in which they detonated a bomb was detonated inside a Palestinian's house. Several civilians were injured and 18 others detained.
Images from the scene showed the crumbled inside of the house and hollowed out cars outside.
Since the war between Hamas and Israel broke out, Israel has intensified its military attacks and detentions against Palestinians in the West Bank.
A total of 471 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank, with 262 killed since October 7.
