Israeli forces launched a deadly raid on the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, killing six Palestinians and shelling a home.

Israeli special forces besieged a home in the village of Kafr Dan, near Jenin, before shelling it, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

The raid came after the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad said on Tuesday that they were engaged in "fierce" fighting with Israeli troops in the village.

The Israeli army later confirmed they used attack helicopters in the operation.

The men killed in the raid were aged between 21 and 32, according to the Palestinian ministry of health.

Key Numbers from prisoners NGO Addameer since 7 October:
Over 8,425 Palestinians arrested in the West Bank
Some 540 of those arrested were children and around 280 were women
At least 66, journalists were arrested; 45 of whom remain remain in jail and 23 under administrative detention
Over 5,210 administrative detention orders issued, including against children

One of the Palestinians killed has been identified as Ahmed Smoudi, the brother of a 12-year-old who was fatally killed by Israeli forces in 2022.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that several Palestinians were wounded in the raid.

Later on Tuesday, the Israeli military announced it had carried out a "counter-terrorism" operation in the village, and they had killed four armed Palestinians.

The raid comes just a day after Israeli forces also killed four Palestinians near Ramallah on Monday, and three others in Jenin last week.

Israeli raids on the occupied West Bank have markedly increased since 7 October and the ongoing war on Gaza.

At least 538 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October, around 5,200 wounded by Israeli army fire, and thousands more imprisoned, according to the health ministry.

Israel currently stands accused of committing acts which plausibly amount to genocide by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its brutal and indiscriminate bombing of Gaza which has killed at least 37,000 people.
