"The occupation forces entered Deir Al-Hatab in the early afternoon and sealed off all entrances to the town, then surrounded a house where Salman Omran was staying," Ghassan Daghlas, a civil activist in the Nablus region, told The New Arab.
"While Israeli soldiers exchanged fire with the young man, other youths began to confront them with stones, and the soldiers opened fire at them," Daghlas detailed. "They also fired large quantities of tear gas, and dozens were asphyxiated."

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement to the press that its teams in Deir Al-Hatab treated six Palestinians for wounds by live fire and that Israelí soldiers fired tear gas canisters at one of the Red Crescent's ambulances.
The raid in Deir Al-Hatab comes a day after an Israeli soldier was injured in a shooting attack at the Israeli settlement of Ofra, east of Ramallah. Israeli forces had blocked various roads following the shooting, paralysing traffic in the eastern Ramallah region.
