Israeli forces on Sunday launched campaigns of raids and arrests against the Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, Palestinian security sources told The New Arab

Israeli forces arrested three young Palestinian men from Bethlehem city in the West Bank and two others in East Jerusalem under the pretext that they participate in activities against Israel, the sources said.

Late on Saturday and early on Sunday, the Israeli army stormed the outskirts of the towns of Beit Wazan and Surra in the west of the of Nablus in the West Bank, the sources added.

They confiscated surveillance cameras from several shops in the stormed towns to search for alleged militants who reportedly opened fire on the settlement of Yitzhar, south of Nablus. No Jewish settlers were injured in the alleged attack.

In Ramallah City, in the centre of the West Bank, several Israeli military vehicles entered the village of Kafr Nima, parking in several alleys there.

The Israeli army frequently raids Palestinian houses across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians and usually trigger clashes with the residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the complete control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted without a search warrant and whenever and wherever the military chooses to do so.
