Israeli army chief to make first visit to Morocco next week: reports
Israeli army chief Aviv Kochavi will make his first trip to Morocco on Monday, reports confirmed on Saturday.
Army spokesman Ran Kochav confirmed the visit without giving further details, after earlier reports quoted him as saying that the destination will not be immediately revealed due to security reasons.
Israel's i24NEWS had already reported that Kochavi will visit Morocco for three days.
Sources also told the Israeli channel that Oman, Saudi Arabia or Somalia could be next to establish ties with Israel.
Kochavi already travelled to Bahrain in March this year where he met with top security officials.
Dubbed the Abraham Accords, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco all normalised ties with Tel Aviv in 2020.
Sudan and Israel also established relations that year, but normalisation has not yet been completed because of unrest in the East African country.
The deals saw widespread condemnation from Palestinians who said the agreements harmed their cause.
