Israeli actress Gal Gadot was projected onto Dubai's Burj Khalifa skyscraper on Tuesday to advertise her latest film in the Wonder Woman franchise.
The Emirati promotion for soon-to-be released "Wonder Woman 1984" makes a marked contrast from the reception in the Middle East of Gadot's previous appearance as the superhero.
The first "Wonder Woman" film was banned by Lebanese authorities over Gadot's links with the Israeli army.
The actress' appearance in "Justice League" and casting as Egyptian queen Cleopatra also sparked calls for boycott in some Arab states.
The 35-year-old actress attracted criticism from pro-Palestine activists for her previous service in and support for the Israeli military.
Gadot and fellow "Wonder Woman 1984" stars Kristen Wiig and Chris Pine appeared on the world's tallest skyscraper on Tuesday night, two days ahead of the scheduled release of the DC Comics film in the United Arab Emirates.
"I'm so, so honoured," the actress told Arab News.
"I would love to (visit Dubai) and I wish all of you guys happy holidays and I wish you all health and happiness," Gadot added.
Israeli nationals can now travel to the UAE after the two countries agreed to normalise ties following a US-brokered deal earlier this year.
