At least eight civilians were killed and 20 wounded in northern Iraq on Wednesday, when shelling attributed to neighbouring Turkey hit a park in autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan, two officials said.
Five people were killed in Turkish shelling on the border, including a child, a woman and an Arab tourist, and about 20 others were wounded, Mushir Bashir, the mayor of Zakho, told AFP.
A local government official gave a similar account.
