Egyptian singer Mohamed Ramadan 'breaks TikTok record' for artists in Arab World

Egyptian singer Mohamed Ramadan says a hashtag bearing his name on TikTok exceeded 8 billion views, making him the first artist to reach such heights in the Arab world.

Egyptian singer Mohamed Ramadan announced that a hashtag bearing his name on social media app TikTok exceeded 8 billion views, making him the first artist to reach such heights in the Arab world.

The Arabic hashtag of his name is formatted to #Mohamed_Ramadan (translated), and has brought him increased social media success as the number one viewed hashtag of any artist's name in the Arab World on the app, according to reports he has retweeted. 

"Thanks God for being Number One in the Arab World. Trust in God. Success will keep escalating," Ramadan said in an Instagram post.

TikTok told The New Arab Ramadan is among the "top viewed" artists in the Arab world, but could not confirm if the singers claims were accurate.

The artist is preparing to release his  new music video 'NASSABA' , featuring Algerian rapper Didine Canon, next Wednesday.

The clip was filmed by the Pyramids in Cairo, Ramadan revealed. The location was chosen to promote tourism in the country, according to local media.

Ramadan has over one million monthly listeners on Spotify, and over 14.4 million subscribers on YouTube.

Some of his most known songs which offered him considerable increased popularity across the Arab world include Ya Habibi, Ensay and Bam Bam.
